For Book enquiries, please email Martin Kelly at chairman@ddas.co.uk.
As you are probably aware, DDAS now has a comprehensive library of aquatic related publications which are available for loan to all fully paid up members of the society. You can request an book by contacting myself, Martin Kelly, before a monthly meeting so that I can arrange for the appropriate publication to be brought in for you, and you will be required to return it at the next months’ meeting.
The rules of lending are as follows;
1. There will be no charge for lending, but you will be responsible for looking after the books/videos
2. Failure to return the item after a month will incur a cost to you.
3. We would ask that you write down a basic synopsis (one sentence/paragraph) on return of the books so that the list can be augmented with information, making it easier for members to be able to choose the most appropriate publication. For example there are a few that have been done with the persons initials at the end.
4. The list will be continually updated and will be available to members online or in paper form as requested.
5. Members of DDAS may have books that are not listed in the library, and DDAS would be very grateful if you would be prepared to lend these to other members. It would then be your responsibility for ensuring their safe use. Details of who owns the books will be put on the list of publications so that you can speak to them directly. The same applies to videos and DVDs.
6. Finally, if you think of any publications that should be on the list but that aren’t, please let me know so that we can discuss whether DDAS should purchase a copy.
I hope you will find the new-look library both useful and exciting.
